Introduction to Drawing Class - 6 Week Course
Learn the fundamentals of drawing in a relaxed and intimate studio setting. Over the space of six weeks students will be guided through the process of creating a series of finished drawings and exercises exploring the fundamentals skills of drawing from observation.
Topics explored include:
Creating line, tone and shade with graphite and charcoal
Building perspective
Creating dynamic compositions
Developing and exploring personal style
Various Observational drawing techniques
Creating depth and volume
Drawing from observation not only benefits our ability to express ourselves visually, it also offers us a chance to slow down, be mindful and observe the world around us.
This class is suitable for complete beginners as well as those looking to refine existing drawing skills.
Spaces are limited to 10 people.
When: Sunday’s from 5 pm - 7 pm beginning Sunday the 30th of May
Where: Gloworm Studios. 11 Railway Place, Fairfield.
Course fee: $300
All materials included in the course fee.
About your tutor:
Alex is a local artist who specialises in Realistic Portraiture and Surrealism. She completed her Bachelor Degree in Fine Art in 2013 with a major in Painting, at RMIT University, and is currently studying her Masters in Secondary Teaching at Melbourne University. Alex has continued her artistic studies since completing her Fine Arts degree, completing courses in areas like Blacksmithing, Silversmithing, Glassblowing, Pottery, Gold Leaf Gilding and Iconographic Painting. Alex has a friendly, jovial nature, and enjoys creating a relaxed, fun environment in her classes.
